Epic Raid MTB High Atlas – 8-Day Siroua Volcano Expedition

Morning transfer through the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m) to the village of Tizi. After lunch, the first MTB stage begins with a progressive climb to reach a high plateau. The ambiance becomes immediately wild: wind, open views, flocks of goats and stone hamlets.

The ride continues in the fresh mountain morning as you follow a scenic single-track toward Aït Kalla, meeting villagers who still live to the rhythm of the mountains. A warm tea break introduces you to the culture of Siroua before descending through beautiful agricultural terraces. After lunch near Anmid, the trail takes you up again toward Amassine, revealing immense views over the valleys. You spend the night in a bivouac set by a spring, surrounded by calm and pure mountain air.

This day dives deep into Siroua’s volcanic world. The morning brings you across high grassy plateaus dotted with basalt columns and massive granite formations. After a break at a 2,500 m pass, you descend to the village of Tine Iyssane where lunch is served among mineral landscapes shaped by ancient eruptions. The afternoon leads you to a breathtaking plateau at 2,350 m where your bivouac overlooks the distant Toubkal peaks glowing under the sunset.

A favorite among riders, this day begins with a long exhilarating descent that can be taken on dirt track or single-track depending on your level. As you enter Araben, the scenery changes into the first argan forests and warmer tones of the Anti-Atlas. After lunch by the dam, a short transfer brings you to a charming mountain gîte where you rest and enjoy a comfortable evening with local hospitality.

You start with a morning climb offering a panoramic view over the valley stretching endlessly below. A refreshing break by the river allows you to relax before continuing toward walnut-shaded areas where lunch awaits. The afternoon ride takes you through remote villages scattered across the plateau, each telling its own mountain story. You reach the Andouz bivouac at the golden hour and settle in for another night under the stars.

Your last stage leads you through soft almond valleys and peaceful hamlets full of charm. You reach the Tizi n’Oulaoune Pass at 2,100 m before enjoying the final descent into the Ijoukak Valley. After a last lunch together, the bikes are loaded and the road brings you back to Marrakech where you spend your final night in a riad full of authenticity and comfort.

Your journey ends with a transfer to Marrakech airport. You leave with volcanic memories, strong sensations and the spirit of the MTB High Atlas Morocco engraved in you.
